Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS)

MOE FAS

Ministry of Education Financial Assistance Scheme (MOE FAS)

Objective

The objective of the MOE FAS is to help needy Singaporean students to meet basic schooling expenses.

Instructions to Applicants:

  1. Please ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria.
  2. Please ensure all necessary documents are submitted and application forms fully completed. The school reserves the right to reject any incomplete application.
  3. Please submit your application early with the necessary documents to ensure that your application is processed on time.

Eligibility Criteria

       Student is a Singapore Citizen and meets one of the following conditions :

·         Gross Household income not exceeding $2500 / month; or

·         Per Capital Income not exceeding $625 / month

Supporting documents required (or any other documents as and when required by school for the purpose of verifying the income)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

     Photocopies of :

1.      Birth Certificate of Applicant(s).

2.      Birth Certificates / NRIC of household members ( that is, persons staying in the same residential address ).

3.      Latest payslip from all household members who are employed.

4.      A letter from employer stating Gross Monthly Salary is to be submitted if payslip is not available, for employed household members.

5.      To produce CPF contribution history for past 6 months for all family members, where applicable.

6.      For household members who are self-employed are required to attach their latest Income Tax Notice of Assessment. If the member is not required to pay tax or the tax assessment does not reflect his / her current income status, he is to complete the declaration in Annex A.

7.      Household members who are unemployed and below age 62 are required to complete declaration in Annex A.

School attire

Free school attire is provided on a need basis.  An FAS recipient is eligible for up to 2 sets of uniform, 2 sets of PE attire, a pair of shoes and 2 pairs of socks in each academic year

 

Additional Financial Assistance provided by School - Pocket money & Transport allowance

Eligibility Criteria

Student is a Singapore Citizen and his/her gross household income does not exceed $1300 / month. 

 

Benefits

Student will receive $2 per day for pocket money (based on actual attendance) and $20 per month for transport allowance (excluding school holidays).

 

NEED NEW COMPUTER AT SUBSIDISED PRICE?

1.        Pupils from low income households who wish to own a new computer at a subsidised price can apply for one under the NEU PC Plus Programme administered by the Infocom Development Authority of Singapore (IDA).  Under this Programme, each eligible household may apply for one computer once every 3 years, regardless of the number of school-going children and/or household members with permanent disability.  

 

2.        For parents who wish to apply, please complete the Neu PC Application Form.  If your application for MOE FAS is successful, the school will help you to send the completed form to the   lead agencies of IDA for processing and approval.
