Mathematics

The Mathematics Department aims to enable students to acquire strong mathematical concepts and skills that support continuous learning and application in Mathematics.

The department designs meaningful and engaging lessons to build students’ understanding and appreciation of Mathematics. To further stretch students who demonstrate a strong grasp of the subject, the department offers the Whitley Maths Talent Programme.

This developmental programme caters to Secondary 1, 2, and 3 students and exposes them to an advanced and enriched curriculum. Through the programme, students explore mathematical ideas beyond the syllabus and deepen their problem-solving and analytical skills. Students are also provided with opportunities to participate in both national and international Mathematics competitions, including online platforms when applicable.

Through structured classroom learning and enrichment programmes, students develop confidence, resilience, and enjoyment in learning Mathematics. They strengthen their mathematical thinking and are encouraged to see Mathematics as a meaningful and relevant part of their lives.
